Swaying 90 metres above the Thames
I love London’s cable car and I’ve been on it quite a few times. Funnily enough, I used to be terrified of cable cars but somehow along the way I lost that fear and now I love them. I still get those excited butterflies in the stomach though at the thought of going so high – in this case 90 metres above the Thames.
There’s always so much to see. In London it’s rare to see the horizon but from here you do. The journey one way only takes around 3 to 5 minutes and it’s one of the best value ways to see London from the sky. I took video one way and photos on the return journey.
The Emirates Airline cable car was built in 2012 to cope with extra journeys during the London Olympics. It’s still going strong but is mainly used for fun and tourist journeys now rather than commuting from one side of the river Thames to the other. It’s a fabulous experience at any time of day or night and one day I’ll make another video about capturing its views at sunset.
If you’re visiting London be sure to add it to your list and bring your camera because you won’t want to miss the chance to capture a special shot.
