Hunting the Super Moon last night

It’s just as well I wrote in my most recent blog about making the best of what you have, not hankering after what you can’t have and loving what you’ve already got because that very much applied to yesterday evening.

There was a super moon yesterday and so I set off to hopefully take some photos. I caught a glimpse of it early. It looked wonderful and awe inspiring! The only trouble was that i could only see a tiny glimpse of it between two very tall buildings. By the time it came up over the buildings, the sky had clouded over and the huge moon of earlier now looked a bit more normal and a lot less super. So, after hanging around for a while wondering “Will that cloud shift? Oh, yes! Oh, no! Oh, yes! Oh, no!” I moved on and focused my attention on the beautiful buildings in this blog image.

My reward was beautiful clear photos. Nighttime photos are among my favourites and we’ve now reached the perfect time of year for them. No more wandering around the city until really late or having to get up extremely early in the morning. It’s now dark from around 5pm and that’s a very amenable time. If I want, over the next few months, I can take nighttime photos and then edit them on the same evening.

I hope you also find consolations during autumn and wintertime! x
