County Hall, London lit in Rainbow Colours
I took this photo back in July and it’s taken until now for me to pull it out again and really appreciate it. I love the message (supporting LGB+ rights), the colours and the reflections on the river. So why has it taken me this long to fully appreciate it? It’s because, on that evening, I didn’t have a wide enough lens with me to fit in the London Eye as well, which is the shot I really wanted. I felt it was the shot that got away.
Time has mellowed that feeling though and looking at it today I can appreciate the image fully for what’s in it, not for what isn’t!
One of these days, I’ll get that wide angle lens. It’s on my wish list. Until then, I’ve got to resist that blight of photographers - gear envy. It’s tempting to always want that piece of gear we haven’t got.
It reminds me of the title of that old song “Love the One You’re With”. Don’t let thoughts of what you haven’t got, blind to you what you already have.
Hope you’re enjoying what you already have today x
