Day 4 of my 5 day challenge - Success!

Yesterday I wrote about using my phone as a remote shutter and how I thought it had been working but none of the photos had taken. Last night I tried again and it was one of those Doh! moments. My camera will take a photo when you press the screen once. It focuses on the point you touched and takes the shot all in one. My phone as remote however, I remembered, takes two clicks, one to focus and one to take the shot. Problem solved! I’m unlikely to make the same mistake twice.

I find that if I’ve lost shots due to something like that it imprints on my memory very firmly!

So, yesterday had been a foggy day but by 4pm that had all gone and there was a beautiful sunset. I set off to the same spot as yesterday, South Dock, and the water again was calm. Not ripple free, but still enough for good reflections. It was the first day of Lockdown 2.0 so there were very few people around.

Bingo! I ended up with 3 shots I really liked, all quite different. I also came away with some ideas for the near future.

I would have liked to have retaken my fail photo of yesterday but that boat had moved on and another was in its place. A less photogenic one!

This morning I got up to a pleasant surprise. Thick fog and cloud covered almost everything except the top of the Shard. I’ve taken some shots but not downloaded them yet. I hope they’re good and if so, I’ll share those soon.

In the meantime, my blog photo today is of the buildings surrounding South Dock. I was surprised to realise that around half of these buildings have been completed in the last couple of years. Some of them so recently that they aren’t even occupied yet. Very fast change indeed!

I hope you can have a bit of a wind down Friday today!
