Striving to be happy

I’ve had at least two very happy moments this week (actually a lot more) but two that come to mind related to photography. The first was when I saw that another Instagram page had featured my photo and had titled it “A Masterpiece Reflection Shot”. Then the second was today when I told a friend about it and how pleased I’d been because it was the first time I’d had a feature spot. When I went to show her my screen (over Zoom - I’m socially distancing!) I saw a message pop up and another page had featured me today. I was over the moon!

The first feature was a reflection shot of the buildings of Canary Wharf which I’ve included here today as my blog photo. The second was for Tower Bridge at sunrise which was my blog photo yesterday.

It made me feel happy because I’ve put a lot of work into my photography since I bought my first DSLR two years ago and my reward for that has been the enjoyment I’ve had along the way on the journey. This type of recognition is the sweetener on top of that, it’s a privilege. As many of you know I absolutely love Instagram and I get so much pleasure on a daily basis from seeing the photographers I follow posting their incredible photos from all over the world. To become more enmeshed in that network is very satisfying.

I hope you too have a few happy moments this week!
