Is this London or Miami?

I took this photo during my 5 day challenge this past week. The all white building looks stunning against the fading light, so although I was concentrating on taking photos of the dock and the buildings of Canary Wharf at the time, I just had to fit this in. If I had left in a couple of London style chimneys, just edging into the foot of this shot, it would have been obvious but I edited those out to keep the Miami vibe.

Since finishing my twilight/night challenge I’ve taken daylight photos the past two days, which are a lot easier since I don’t need to carry my tripod. Today, I walked around Millwall Dock where the water would normally be ruffled by boats from the watersports centre. It’s closed for lockdown right now though so the water was very calm. I managed to get quite a few shots with great reflections so I hope that some of those will be good enough to share this coming week.

The paths were very busy today. Whole families, singles, couples, young, old, everyone and his dog has taken to walking now! It’ll do us all good, mentally and physically, and could lead to some long lasting habits hopefully.

By contrast, the river Thames is extremely quiet today. The fast commuter boats stopped running on Thursday, there are no pleasure boats, and since it’s Sunday, no working boats or tugs either. Despite this, it’s not great for photography since the day has now settled into a cloudy, dark greyness.

I hope you managed to catch some of the good weather, wherever you are!
